About the Event

Ne. Sans in collaboration with The Dance Centre’s Special Projects and Partnerships, is launching a new project, supporting collaboration between classical musicians and dance artists. The project will offer 3 dance artists and 3 musicians (individual and groups) the opportunity to collaborate on the creation of short, approximately 20 min pieces. Selected projects will receive fully subsidized studio space of 80 hours in total, technical support and compensation for a sharing/presentation at the end of the process (September 2020). Established in 2017 by Artistic Director Idan Cohen in Vancouver, Canada Ne. Sans is re-imagining and reconnecting Opera & Dance. Directing opera through contemporary dance opens a whole new world of collaborative opportunities: an environment that involves working with singers, dancers, musicians, visual artists and designers. By experimenting and constantly expanding our knowledge of multi-disciplinary art forms, we are forging what we see as a natural hybridization of the Arts. Our ambition is to create exciting, thought-provoking, artistically challenging art- and to strengthen and inspire our community.

*The call is open until January 3rd, 2020.

Answers will be received by January 17th, 2020.
